Relief Society 2/5/2023 Newsletter
Message from Sister Cathy Wagner:
Dear Sisters,
I have been expanding my group of friends with the combination of the Napa Wards. I know names that I had never known. I am beginning to recognize faces that were new to me. I wonder if the same applies to you. Who do you know now that you didn’t know last year? There are so many different people in our ward. There is so much beauty in differences. In her book “Lighten Up” Chieko N. Okazaki writes “Hooray for differences! Without them, there would be no harmony.” What a statement. Because for me, a melophile, a moving harmonious choir can bring me to tears.
Did you know that in our ward we have sisters that speak Spanish fluently? We have a sister that speaks Finnish fluently .Another sister speaks Chinese. We also have a sister that went to high school in Paris. One of our sisters went to 5 different high schools in her sophomore year alone. Also in our midst we have a sister who was a runner up in the Miss Teen California Pageant. And how about our sister who has 51 cousins and knows them all?
I read a quote from Henry B Eyring this week. “You see, the names “brother” and “sister” are not just friendly greetings or terms of endearment for us. They are an expression of an eternal truth: God is the literal Father of all mankind: we are each part of His eternal family.” (“Gathering the Family of God,“ Ensign, May 2017.
This month, as we strengthen our relationships, let each one of us watch the unity and love grow. Let’s look for the differences in each other and rejoice in them. Have a wonderful February and know that I do love you!
Cathy Wagner

Find Ways to Enhance Your 2023 Gospel Study
“With frightening speed, a testimony that is not nourished daily ‘by the good word of God’ [Moroni 6:4] can crumble. Thus, the antidote to Satan’s scheme is clear: we need daily experiences worshiping the Lord and studying His gospel.”
— President Russell M. Nelson, “The Power of Spiritual Momentum.”
